The damage

A sucking insect that pierces pods and grains. It leaves shriveled, stained and lighter grains, causes green stem syndrome and drives down yield and grain quality at the most expensive point of the season.

Biological strategy

Chromobacterium violaceum acts on sucking pests by contact and ingestion, while Metarhizium anisopliae germinates on the stink bug, penetrates it and colonizes it. Two fronts of biological control that reduce the population without leaving chemical residue on the grain.

When to apply

From the start of pod formation through grain fill, as soon as monitoring indicates the presence of stink bugs.

How to monitor

Weekly beat cloth sampling from the start of podding, during the coolest hours of the day.
