The damage
It attacks young plants right after emergence, especially corn following soybeans. Feeding on the stem leaves perforated and rolled leaves, tillered or dead plants and stand gaps that compromise yield from the start.
Biological strategy
Chromobacterium violaceum acts on stink bugs by contact and ingestion, and Metarhizium anisopliae infects the insect on contact, including those sheltering in the straw. Biological protection when the crop is most vulnerable.
When to apply
From emergence to the first leaves, when monitoring finds stink bugs in the straw or on the plants. In second-crop corn, start right after planting over the soybean straw.
How to monitor
Inspection of the straw and the base of the plants in the early morning, counting stink bugs per square meter.
